Assalam alleikum. Our Imam Sheikh Mohamed Ouabderhmane has offered these clarifications regarding taking loans to go to Hajj:
1. Regarding taking loans (interest) to go to Hajj:
It is prohibited to take loan (interest) to go to Hajj. Hajj can be performed only if you have the means and it must be halal. Allah (SWT) said in the Quran “O you who believe! Fear Allah and give up what remains (due to you) from Ribaa (from now onward) if you are (really) believers” [al-Baqarah 2:278]. This Ayah is further explained in [al-Baqarah 2:275]. There are also many Hadith in which the prophet (SAW) prohibited taking or giving ribaa (interest).
2. Regarding Allah (SWT) Reciting Suratul Ar-Rahman to the Believers in Janah:
There is no authentic source in the Quran and the Sunnah for this. These are matters only known by Allah (SWT) and has not been disclosed to anyone. It’s is purely dangerous to associate an action to Allah or His prophet without an authentic source. This is Bidaa (innovation). It leads to hellfire. We must not believe in this. And stay away from it if we are true believers.
May Allah (SWT) guide us. JazakAllah
